Psykisk ohälsa bland skolelever ur ett normkritiskt perspektiv - En intervjustudie om kopplingen mellan normavvikelse och psykisk ohälsa bland skolelever

Abstract
Mental unhealthiness among school students in Swedish elementary schools has increased in recent years, which is not least seen by various reports and surveys. All schools have different approaches to their equal treatment work, focusing on making the students feel as comfortable as possible. In recent years, norm criticism has gained a greater part in this equal treatment work, which means making criticizing norms and bringing attention to that they exist among students. Mental unhealthiness among school students in Swedish elementary schools has increased in recent years, which is not least seen by various reports and surveys. All schools have different approaches to their equal treatment work, focusing on making the students feel as comfortable as possible. In recent years, norm criticism has gained a greater part in this equal treatment work, which means making criticizing norms and bringing attention to that they exist among students. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between standard deviation and mental health, but also to investigate how the social problem such as the increased mental unhealthiness of students can be counteracted with the norm-critical approach. As a basis, I interviewed five school curators and one school nurse. I chose to restrict myself to interviewing curators and a school nurse from five schools in three municipalities in Skåne. My main question in the paper is: How do the respondents see on mental unhealth in relation to standard deviations among schoolchildren? I have used a theoretical perspective from Emile Durkheim to visualize school structures that can contribute to mental unhealth as well as a norm critical perspective from Ana Marega and Selma Gusic. The method I used is a qualitative content analysis with a template designed by Ulla Hellgren Graneheim and Berit Lundman. The results I found were that my respondents agreed that there could be a link between standard deviations and mental unhealth among schoolchildren, although the situation at each school is unique. Den psykiska ohälsan bland skolelever i de svenska grundskolorna har ökat de senaste åren vilket märks av inte minst genom flertalet rapporter och undersökningar. Alla skolor har olika förhållningssätt vid deras likabehandlingsarbete där fokus ligger på att göra så att eleverna trivs så bra som möjligt. På senare år har normkritik fått ett större inslag i detta likabehandlingsarbete vilket innebär att synliggöra och kritisera normer som existerar bland eleverna. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka sambandet mellan normavvikelse och psykisk ohälsa men även att undersöka hur det samhällsproblem som den ökade psykiska ohälsan bland elever innebär kan motverkas genom det normkritiska förhållningssättet. Jag har använt mig av ett teoretiskt perspektiv från Emile Durkheim för att synliggöra strukturer inom skolan som kan bidra till psykisk ohälsa samt ett normkritiskt perspektiv av Ana marega och Selma gusic. Metoden jag använt är en kvalitativ innehållsanalys med en mall utformad av Ulla Hellgren Graneheim och Berit Lundman. Resultat som jag kom fram till var att mina respondenter var enade om att det kan finnas ett samband mellan normavvikelse och psykisk ohälsa även om situationen på varje skola är unik. (Less)
