- Abstract
- My aim with this essay is to study unit managers experiences of leadership within social work. My intention is to gain knowledge about their management plans, reasoning about change and resistance within the organization. Based on my questions and analysis, I have learned that the unit managers are easily clamped between the leaders above, as they are so-called middle managers. The unit managers want to be considered like leaders rather than managers. In change, the unit heads speak of the importance of structure, clarity and to dare to talk about when someone does not agree with the change to one hundred percent. Resistance manifests itself in different ways within the organization and is managed differently but they all agree that the most important thing is to communicate. (Less)
