- Denna studie undersöker åtta individers upplevelser av förändring i självmedkänsla under åtta veckors gruppdeltagande i mindfulnessbaserad stressreduktion, MBSR och mindfulnessbaserad kognitiv terapi, MBKT. Studien har en huvudsakligen kvalitativ forskningsansats. Deltagarna intervjuades kort efter gruppens avslutande och ombads också fylla i formulär Self Compassion Scale (SCS), Neff (2003) i början och slutet av MBSR respektive MBKT. Samtliga deltagare ökade sin självmedkänsla. Daglig meditation framkom som den viktigaste specifika faktorn i förändringen till ökad självmedkänsla för denna grupp. En annan viktig faktor för ökad självmedkänsla var hur deltagarna löste upplevda svårigheter i samband med meditationerna.
