I do this mainly through interviews complimented with participant observations at the women’s rights organizations’ work places. Through this research, I find that the relations that the women’s rights organizations engaged in with the government are affected by symbolic power and in some cases symbolic violence. The relation between the women’s rights organizations and Kvinna till Kvinna is affected by a conscious and outspoken symbolic power, but no symbolic violence is found. Furthermore the women’s rights organizations tend to aim strongly for possession of social capital. (Less)
