Abstract
As a millennial I’m used to buying almost everything
Online, meaning I’m a big part of an ever growing
problem for the logistics sector.

An American poll from 2015 shows that close to 75%
of the US population is now shopping online. That’s
more than 200 million people doing the majority of there
shopping Online. 1

Sweden’s e-commerce sector has an annual growth of
20% and a total turn over of 109,5 billion sek2

With generic postal services who’s logistic systems are
made for much smaller parcel volumes. These specific
systems are now becoming obsolete at an alarming rate.
This is resulting in delays, an increased amount of lost
and damaged goods.

Using research and statistics from the industry I’ve come to a conclusion regarding a future conceptual solution.
Not having enough storage for the incoming volumes and not being able to constantly keep control of the parcels
within the system is the main issue with the current
systems used.

Using emerging technology in combination with
sketching and mock-ups I ended up with a final solution: the ADS (Autonomous Delivery System)
Its a combination of an Autonomous cargo truck and a
smart storage unit proposal. In combination with each
other, the units allow the owner of the fleet to have
constant and direct control of the parcel flow. (Less)
