Abstract
The company which this thesis is written for is a startup based in Malm ̈o, Sweden, with ambitions to develop high quality electrical sports products. The first prod- uct launched by the company is an electric surfboard with amazing performance and user features.

The purpose of this project was to, on the companies behalf, look closer on a complementary winter product for the company’s product portfolio. This project is therefore focused on the development of an electric drivetrain for a snowboard.

The method used exclusively is presented in detail in the book Product Design and Development, by Karl Ulrich & Steven Eppinger. Where considerations had to be taken to which parts matched the scope of this project.

The method used exclusively is presented in detail in the book Product Design and Development, by Karl Ulrich & Steven Eppinger. Where considerations had to be taken to which parts matched the scope of this project.
After literature studies it was clear that theoretically approaching the area would be difficult within the project time frame. Instead, the result is a product idea where it is easy to replace components and iterate design solutions to quickly approach a functioning product. The focus has been on an initial theoretical framework and then developing a fully assembled CAD model in SolidWorks. (Less)
