Abstract
Just because a desert is a dry and arid wasteland
today does not mean that it has always been,
nor that it forever will be. This document will test
the potential and feasibility of establishing or
re-establishing a healthy, self-sustaining, green
ecosystem in a desert or arid environment by the
use of an intelligent autonomous robotic network
functioning as one system.

The project’s architecture is found in the form of an
‘Ecosystem Builder’. The design project is thus, a
compact autonomous robotic system that has all
the necessary abilities that are required to plant
entire forests in remote dry and arid areas without

counter the effects that desertification is having on

our planet. The project focuses on currently existing
and emerging technologies that can be utilised
or re-purposed for the needs of this system as to
counteract the growing effects of desertification. (Less)
