Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate what people think of benefactors, both as individuals and organizations. The study was carried out through a survey where eight scenarios were manipulated according to the consequences of the donation for the benefactor, how the help was carried out and the amount of help that was given. There were four scenarios where the benefactor was an individual and four where the benefactors was an organization. At the end of each scenario three questions were given about the impression of the benefactor, where half of the participants in their first question were primed to focus on the utility of the deed itself and the rest of the participants were simply asked about their first impression of the... At the end of each scenario three questions were given about the impression of the benefactor, where half of the participants in their first question were primed to focus on the utility of the deed itself and the rest of the participants were simply asked about their first impression of the benefactor. The analysis showed that how the help was given played a bigger role than the amount of help when it comes to how much the participants liked the benefactor. This was true both when the benefactor was a person and when they were an organization. The participants that were primed generally liked the benefactors more than the participants who were not primed. This was also true for both the human person benefactors and the organizations.
