Abstract (Swedish)
This thesis aims to investigate the results of the Nordic Swan label on mutual fund flows. As consumers starts to increasingly demand more sustainable investment alternatives, the fund distributers have subsequently started investigating new products with focus on sustainability. In October 2017, the Nordic Swan labelled their first funds containing 25 specific sustainability criteria. The funds should also include corporations with good sustainability records and exclude corporations that does not embrace sustainability perspectives. By looking at panel data from 16 different funds on the Swedish market that has been labelled between October 2017 and November 2018 one can estimate the effect with a staggered differences-in-differences... By looking at panel data from 16 different funds on the Swedish market that has been labelled between October 2017 and November 2018 one can estimate the effect with a staggered differences-in-differences model. Point estimates from the regressions show that the Nordic Swan label has a positive effect on fund flows. The estimated effect is large, twice as great as the mean fund flow during the pre-label period. In summary, the study indicates that the Nordic Swan label generates greater fund flows to the labelled funds. (Less)
