Abstract
This paper discusses the phenomenon surrounding the concept introversion and the medial discourse concerning it in Sweden. It also analyses the concept with a medical anthropological perspective in the Swedish context as an attempt to explain why introversion has become a popular personality type to both write about and identify with. How do the media handle the concept? What does this say about the society and how can one explain the creation of and foothold the concept got in the Swedish society?
