Understanding contextual factors affecting distribution networks of spare parts

Engineering Logistics
Abstract
Designing a spare part distribution network that fits the company’s strategy and customer requirement is a common problem for many organizations. Due to the advantages and disadvantages of different distribution network designs, it can be difficult to capture all requirements and contextual factors when designing the network. Furthermore, customer requirements and company strategy can change over time, but the distribution networks might not change simultaneously. This can create misalignments in companies.
