Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine how Lithuanian newspapers described child abuse between the years 2016 and 2018. The study is based on 42 articles about child abuse from Lithuanian newspapers, which were later processed with qualitative content analyzis. The analyzis of the articles was based on two different theories; claims-making theory and social constructivism. The result of the study showed that there is a wide description of a perpetrator, that has resulted in a portrait of a “typical” perpetrator. Lithuanian newspapers do not pay as much attention to the victims. Through these years, there has been no significant changes in the description.
