- Abstract
- In September 2015, in the aftermath of the European refugee crisis, the European Union made a decision regarding a relocation program to move refugees from Italy and Greece to other member states. Poland voted in favor of the decision, but then didn’t follow through their obligations. The purpose of this paper is to study Poland's decision not to participate in the relocation program and to understand it based on the securitization theory. The chosen method for this essay is process tracking. The theory discusses various parts, including that if there is reason to believe that the object is threatened, there are legitimate reasons for taking actions to survive.
