Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
The aim of this study was to investigate how women reason about, and experience what it is like to live in Sweden in the months following the autumn of #metoo the year 2017. In utilizing interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) the accounts of three women can make an academic footprint in our society. Could a mostly digital aspect of a social movement influence how people think about themselves, how they perceive their daily situation and change the light in which they view themselves? This body of work intended to appreciate other aspects of #metoo, rather than focusing on having been victimized as it also brings to bear how #metoo could also be a source of change in identity of the participating women. Thereby facilitating for all... (More)

Thereby facilitating for all readers, men and women, to seize the opportunity to understand how these three women view themselves and their experiences of the social position they occupy in today’s Swedish society. Irregardless of the stance on having been victimized or having been the victimizer.
Through qualitative interviewing, aspects of the interviewees’s lifeworld and experiences surfaced in the material, and using IPA those experiences could be arranged into themes which describe what it is like to be a woman today: I couldn’t see all the sisters for all the men, The men and us, Stop it. My. Body. and From silence to advocacy. In the material there are also emerging perspectives on the difficulties in changing societal values, but also the sense of hope that when #metoo is sufficiently mediated to a sufficient number of persons – men and women – in order for them to register fully what was, change is within reach.
