- Abstract
- Within the field of hydrogeology, the study of groundwater, there are multiple models used for determining the properties of groundwater. Previously collected data of the groundwater were used as input for the models. Two hydrogeological models were investigated and computationally implemented with Python. Firstly, a linear regression was applied, complying with current documentation of the models. Secondly, the non-linear Levenberg-Marquardt method was used to estimate the parameters of the models. The Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm was programmed from scratch and compared with a Python scipy function also using the Levenberg-Marquardt method. The result of these two non-linear regression methods as well as the result from the linear... (More)

This comparison demonstrated that a non-linear approach provided better estimated parameters and thus a closer relation between the model and measurement data. (Less)

(Less)
