- Det pågår en ökning av skönhetsingrepp i vårt samhälle och tidigare studier tenderar att visa på samband mellan skönhetsingrepp och personlighetsdrag. Den här studiens syfte var att granska sambanden mellan självkänsla, social anpassning och skönhetsingrepp genom en kvantitativ undersökning. Studien undersökte om lägre grad av självkänsla och högre grad av social anpassning påverkar attityden till skönhetsingrepp. Totalt slutförde 85 deltagare en enkät där de fick skatta sin självkänsla, sociala anpassningsförmåga och inställning till skönhetsingrepp. Resultatet visade negativa korrelationer mellan självkänsla och social anpassning och det finns inget samband mellan självkänsla, social anpassning och skönhetsingrepp. Det här resultatet... - There is an increase in cosmetic surgery in our society and more recent studies tend to show links between beauty procedures and personality traits. The aim of this study was to review the relationships between self-esteem, social adaptation and cosmetic surgery through a quantitative survey. The study examined whether lower levels of self-esteem and higher levels of social adaption affect attitudes towards cosmetic surgery. A total of 85 participants completed a survey in which they had to estimate their self-esteem, social adaptability and attitude to cosmetic surgery. The results showed negative correlations between self-esteem and social adaptation and there is no correlation between self-esteem, social adaptation and cosmetic surgery.... (More)
