The climate of Shengsi is a subtropical monsoon climate, and the development dimension of the surrounding environment is sufficient to support the public space with coastal landscape characteristics. In addition, Shengsi has a wealth of ocean landscape resources, nurturing the unique local culture of Shengsi.

The site I chose is located along the central port between the Old Central District and West City Area. This site connects the most lively old area with the emerging new area, attracting people from both areas. It is close to the port and has a beautiful view of the port. The main road close to this area can go to the two main piers on this island.

With the development of the West City area, the shortcomings of this area are gradually exposed. First, as an important area connecting the West City Area and the main city center, it just set up an ordinary square without infrastructure. Local residents use this area more frequently and need to provide them with more diverse landscapes and functions. Second, there are many open spaces and deserted areas close to the port, which leads to the overall rough and discontinuous landscape along the port. This makes this area not attractive enough for tourists. Finally, this area is connected with mountains, bridges and piers, and this connection needs to be strengthened. This area plays an important role in building a sustainable tourism industry for the entire island. (Less)
Popular Abstract
The design area provides a pedestrian-friendly sustainable open space for local residents and tourists. It can provide multiple functions, including travel accommodation, retail, leisure, exercise and communication. Different waterfront landscapes and tidal flat parks can flexibly respond to changes in sea level.
