Abstract
This study aims to explore ethical implications of artificial intelligence (AI) within recruitment and study the awareness in relation to companies maturity within AI, and its organisational culture. This could serve as a basis for future research, and possibly guide practitioners to use AI in recruitment more ethically. The study is based on the research question: How can AI maturity and organisational culture relate to companies' awareness of ethical implications within AI based recruitment? To fulfill the study’s purpose, a qualitative method used semi structured interviews with five interviewees in four companies. The method takes on a social constructionist perspective that has allowed the study to use interpretations of subjective... (More)

The method takes on a social constructionist perspective that has allowed the study to use interpretations of subjective perceptions. The theoretical frameworks are connected to AI maturity and organizational culture, and a compilation of ethical implications within AI recruitment, mentioned in previous research. The results show that the companies seemed to have a similar AI maturity with differing organizational cultures. Therefore, some aspects could relate more prominently to awareness than others. The conclusion that could be drawn is that AI maturity could not directly relate to the awareness of the ethical implications within AI recruitment, but some organizational cultures could. These are parochial, open system and normative cultures. (Less)
