- Abstract
- This project is about developing a product that will contribute to an included evacuation on passenger ships. There are many types of evacuation plans for differentships and emergencies. However, not all people, considering to different functionalities, have been included when these evacuations plans were initially designed.
Elevators may either be functional or appropriate to use in case of emergency. Thenthe only way to evacuate is by using the staircases. It can be difficult or impossible forsome passengers to use the staircases. There are evacuation chairs on the market incase of this scenario. However, they are not adapted for ship environments.

The research phase includes a review of products on the market, investigation of ship environment and divide the target group into sub-groups. The conclusions from this lead to a functional analysis of important functions.
The design process included sketches, a full-scale mock-up and 3D-models. The final result of this project, will be an evacuation products that is adapted for passenger ships and marine environment. (Less)
