- Abstract
- Aim and goal: The purpose of this study was to find out which quality deficiencies that are discovered in the self inspection, but are missing in the work preparation. The purpose was also to find out how the work preparation should have been performed, to not miss these deviations. The goal for this study was to present different suggestions for how the work preparation should have been performed to reduce quality deviations.
Research questions:

The purpose was also to find out how the work preparation should have been performed, to not miss these deviations. The goal for this study was to present different suggestions for how the work preparation should have been performed to reduce quality deviations.

Method: The study was accomplished during the spring semester of 2021 in Helsingborg at project Luna 5. The study methods includes a literature study, a pilot study and an interview study where the site management has been involved.
Findings: The result showed that the quality deficiencies that occur in the self inspections but are missed in the work preparation, are specific depending on sub operation, shortcomings in the follow up and shortcoming in the enforcement of documents. The result from the investigation of potential improvements that can be done for the work preparation to minimize the discrepancies, can be described in four different main areas. These are meticulous execution of the work preparation, participation that permeate the whole site management, clear follow up of the work preparation and working with ongoing development. In these four mentioned areas have different suggestions been produced on how the business can work with these areas to improve the work preparation. The results of the investigation of both self controls and work preparations, shows that after the completed result part, conclusions can be made on how the work could have been done. From this conclusions it is recommended in the work to use the ISO 9001 system that is already implemented in Sernekes organization and or with help from the tools from both LEAN and Sex Sigma for ongoing development. These tools can together with already mentioned areas of improvement, optimize the work in the organization för more effective work and minimizing discrepancies. (Less)
