Curators about young people, changing working methods and digital divide
This study aims to investigate the experience of digital change for different curators in Sweden, with a particular focus on young people's psychosocial health during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study is centered around a number of questions, such as; 1) What is central in curators' work with young people? 2) In what ways have the possibilities to reach and work with young people been challenged? And 3) What are some of the consequences which can be identified for young people as a result of this digital change? By engaging in ten semistructured interviews, this study aims to address these questions. In conclusion this study reveals that individual meetings are a key tool in the handling of psychosocial problems by curators in Sweden. This study also finds that this practice is one which has been both stimulated and complicated by the Covid19- pandemic. Digital tools which allow online meetings may give more availability and flexibility to students and teachers, but they also make the talks themselves less effective as tools for the curator. Additionally, curators are more unsure of their own limitations in this new, digital setting, which makes them hesitant in their roles. Young people are being both included and excluded in the digital processes developing in the Covid-19 pandemic. (Less)
