These notions constitute a central point of the thematic analysis along with five interviews with different NGOs. The interviewed NGOs are all dedicated to development and receive funding from the Swedish government. The results of the study concludes that responsibility constitute a central part of the NGOs understanding of and approach to the feminist foreign policy. The feminist foreign policy has been successful in bringing the NGOs more legitimacy in their feminist work, although the study indicates that the NGOs had a feminist focus prior to the feminist foreign policy. Subsequently, it also demonstrates how a feminist postcolonial and feminist postmodern perspective is important in understanding the development aid discourse. (Less)
