- Abstract (Swedish)
Examensarbetet undersöker arkitekturens roll i fängelsemiljöer.
- Abstract
- The Borderland is a thesis project in architecture completed during the spring semester of 2021, at Lund School of Architecture. The project examines architecture’s role in prison environments. Through theoretical analysis and explorative design, the project touches on how architectural design decisions can have consequences on the living environment in the prison. Questions surrounding architectures inherent controlling characteristics, and how they work with the Swedish prison service’s vision concerning the rehabilitation of prisoners, are explored.
