- Abstract (Swedish)
(Less) - Abstract
- Buildings threatened by folding is an ever-increasing problem due to sea level rise. The problem is greater in the southern parts of Sweden compared to the rest of the country, where a lot of properties are at risk of being destroyed or damaged as a consequence of floods. To prepare Scania and Halland for the future, information about the sea level rise is therefore needed.
This project focuses on collecting, managing and communicating climate sensitivity in Scania and Halland. Climate sensitivity is an indication of which areas will be affected and what impact the increase will have on all parts of society. In other words, what parts of society will be exposed, due to a sea level rise. To bring about this large-scale analysis of climate... Climate sensitivity is an indication of which areas will be affected and what impact the increase will have on all parts of society. In other words, what parts of society will be exposed, due to a sea level rise. To bring about this large-scale analysis of climate sensitivity, information has been gathered from several places and processed in a way so that it all can be used in a program made in FME. The information includes the building value to show the theoretical cost from the sea level rise. The data has also been combined, managed and refined with the help of the FME. From the output data, threshold levels, levels where a small increase in sea level leads to a large increase in damage have been identified for each municipality in Scania and Halland, both by looking at the number of affected buildings as well as affected value.
The managed damage curves created from the threshold levels have then been combined with future high tides and used to assess how climate-sensitive different areas are.
The damage caused by a five-meter water rise will be greatest in Scania, where 132 972 buildings are threatened, of which 41 376 are residential buildings, which will have a building value of SEK 129 087 million. In Halland, 32 544 buildings are threatened, of which 10 816 residential buildings which have a building value of SEK 16 456 million. (Less)
