- Abstract
- The project aims to learn about Chinese young people's choices and attitudes towards cooking
and solve their problems in cooking. The solution is presented in the form of a product --- a multifunctional electrothermal cooking appliance.
The traditional Chinese saying "Food is god for the people" shows the importance of diet in Chinese life. But today, more and more Chinese young people choose takeaway food instead of cooking. It is unhealthy and bad for the environment --- the takeaway platforms can consume 60 million plastic products in a single day. The project expects to support people living a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

The traditional Chinese saying "Food is god for the people" shows the importance of diet in Chinese life. But today, more and more Chinese young people choose takeaway food instead of cooking. It is unhealthy and bad for the environment --- the takeaway platforms can consume 60 million plastic products in a single day. The project expects to support people living a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
A questionnaire is conducted to assist user analysis in this project. Many people realize that ordering takeaway food frequently is not good, but only a few choose to cook due to busy life and limited living/cooking conditions. 80% of respondents approve that having no time is the main problem. Notably, although many people are weak in cooking skills, the more troublesome thing is washing the dishes rather than cooking.
The solution is an electric cooker that can work independently without a kitchen. It aims to save users' time during the whole cooking process, including cleaning. Specifically, the main features include saving the time of cooking (double pots) and cleaning (integration of pot and tableware), cooking aid (preset cooking modes), and space-saving(foldable). The product uses the existing technology and intends to solve the current practical problems practically. (Less)
