Abstract
This study reflects on the concept of debias, a technique developed to reduce biased interpretations, and its effectiveness with regard to severity assessments concerning intimate partner violence. Specifically, the method aims to estimate the effects of debiasing on different forms of communication bias. Narratives describing physical and psychological violence were thus presented in a survey format (N = 118) which included two groups; one group where all received debias information, and a control group. The methodology was designed to compare differences between assessments of the two types of violence, as well as the difference between assessments narrated by men and those narrated by women. The results indicate that the debias... (More)

The results also show a significant elevation in severity ratings done by women compared to those done by men. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

Resultaten indikerar att debias-informationen signifikant påverkade experimentgruppens medelvärde. Resultaten visar även signifikant högre allvarlighetsskattningar av narrativ skrivna av kvinnor.
