Abstract
To achieve effective product development with the help of computer-aided engineering,
accurate material models are of importance to make well-motivated predictions regarding
structural properties. Haldex AB produce, among other products, brakes for heavy
vehicles. Finite element simulations are well incorporated in the development of the
caliper, which is casted in ductile cast iron. To get a better understanding of the material
properties, fully reversed cyclic testing has been performed on two locations of the caliper.
The resulting data have been used to produce Ramberg-Osgood and strain-life

Popular Abstract
Material properties at two locations from a Haldex brake caliper has been investigated by fully reversed cyclic fatigue testing. This has been performed to produce material models that can be used in finite element simulations.
