People who in various ways go against the research and large amounts of scientific evidence regarding climate change, are commonly called climate change deniers. The aim of this thesis is to increase the understanding of climate skepticism within the radical right-wing populist party the Sweden Democrats. By identifying, developing and then using three different perspectives which are highlighted based on previous research in the area, these have been able to be used in a text analysis of gathered statements regarding the climate issue made by politicians within the Sweden Democrats. This study shows that climate skepticism within the Sweden Democrats can be understood through the perspectives of protection of the economy, distrust and nationalism. While further research is needed in the area of right-wing populism and climate change denial, this study hopes to be seen as a nuanced contribution that can be used in the further studies of understanding climate skepticism.
