The study uses data from the government office, archived at the National Archive. Since 2006, governmental press conferences have increased and stayed on a higher level than during the 1990s. Beside a recurrent pattern of low number of press conferences during the summers, the data also shows an even bigger downfall for the summer months before the election. This result indicates that the usage of governmental press conferences as a political tool have not been party politicized. Additionally, the study concludes that government coalitions do not seem to cause the increased amount on governmental press conferences. (Less)
