The analytical framework is descriptive idea analysis conducted through constructed positions in the debate on energy transition. The constructed positions are based on the theoretical framework that consists of Geerts (2018) identified positions ”boundless consumerism” and ”eco-frugality”. The results show that the energy debate can be perceived as a sociocultural phenomenon and that political statements in the debate primarily aligns with the values of the position ”boundless consumerism”. A change in the energy discourse of the Swedish climate debate can be identified through the transition of from vague subjects to more specific subjects. All debates analysed are mutually concerned with discussing nuclear power and a last finding is that climate- and energy debates are often concretized through specific issues. (Less)
