Abstract (Swedish)
(Less)
Abstract
The number of assignments carried out by the ambulance department have increased over the years, that includes an increase in assignments that ends with non-conveyance decisions. Patients that are non-conveyed are at an increased risk of being hurt or taking damage compared to those that go with the ambulance to the hospital. Ambulance nurses are afraid to make a non-conveyance decision. The purpose was to illuminate the factors that influence an ambulance nurse decision-making regarding non-conveyance patients. The method was a literary study with a three-step qualitative content analysis. The result appeared as four tema: “Participation, involving the patient and family” the importance of dialogue, ”The competence of the ambulance nurse”... (More)

The method was a literary study with a three-step qualitative content analysis. The result appeared as four tema: “Participation, involving the patient and family” the importance of dialogue, ”The competence of the ambulance nurse” how one felt competent enough to take a decision, “The fear of making the wrong decision” the fear of negative consequences for one self and the patient and “Organizational blockades” how the larger organization makes the decision more difficult.. The conclusion is that it is both internal and external factors that influence the ambulance nurse. (Less)
