The primary research questions addressed are: (1) What specific measures has the Swedish State implemented to combat human trafficking for sexual purposes, and how effective have these measures been? (2) How come Sweden is one of the leading destination countries for victims of Human Trafficking? What factors and circumstances contribute to this situation? Despite measures like action plans and laws, Sweden remains a destination for human trafficking for sexual purposes due to high domestic demand and economic inequality. The findings highlight the need for enhanced awareness initiatives to reduce demand and support victims, stressing the importance of understanding and addressing the underlying causes to combat exploitation and abuse effectively. The study underscores the necessity of ongoing efforts and further research to improve anti-trafficking measures. (Less)
