- Abstract
- In current times due to climate change and the geopolitical environment, more emphasis has been placed on energy usage compared to 5 – 10 years ago. Companies and Counties have become more aware of the energy costs, where one of the biggest posts are heating and cooling indoor spaces. One way of lowering the energy usage of buildings is that instead of cooling the whole indoor space only certain zones are cooled in the building. And this method is especially a good fit for indoor spaces with high demands on cleanliness and where large heat sources exist.

One way of lowering the energy usage of buildings is that instead of cooling the whole indoor space only certain zones are cooled in the building. And this method is especially a good fit for indoor spaces with high demands on cleanliness and where large heat sources exist.
This thesis goal is to examine two different prototype air inlets who apply the method of temperature controlled airflow distribute air in a room and determine the area of which it distributes air into. The pressure drop difference between the different prototype air inlets will also be examined. Prior tests indicate a difference in air distribution and pressure drop between the different prototype air inlets. The area of which air is distributed into a room will be examined using different measuring methods and they were: thrown, core line, air spread and fall speed. The pressure drop has also been measured between the two different prototype air inlets. The results from the different measuring methods have been analyzed both on their own and together with the other results to give a nuanced result.
The conclusion was that there was no significant difference between the two prototype air inlets in relation to how they distribute air in a room. Although there was a significant difference between the pressure drops, prototype air inlet B showed a lower pressure drop at the same supply air flow compared to prototype air inlet A. - I rådande klimat och omvärldsläge har energianvändning fått ett allt större fokus än vad det hade för en 5 – 10 år sedan.
