The research is expanded with semi-structured interviews that support the research findings. The critical examination of research results suggests that the European Union plays a significant intermediary role, effectively bridging global initiatives with member state actions. Moreover, the study highlights the European Union’s leadership potential in setting and enforcing climate targets for the aviation industry. Based on the analysis and the research results, the paper concludes with an outlook for future studies. (Less)
