- Abstract
- Chronic stress is an escalating global issue that implies significant challenges. The Scandinavian region, including Sweden, faces a substantial obstacle in addressing this problem due to long waiting queues for psychological help. In Sweden, individuals may have to endure a wait of up to 12 weeks, while in Denmark, the waiting period can be as long as 20 weeks. Consequently, there is an urgent need to develop interventions that can help individuals feel taken care of during this waiting period.
The development of this app draws upon a diverse range of resources, including surveys, extensive scientific research, relevant literature, insights from practising psychologists and market analysis.

MindBooster aspires to create optimal conditions for neurotransmitters responsible for regulating and boosting a person’s mood. The app achieves this by focusing on activities that stimulate the release of these neurotransmitters and recommending foods containing essential precursors for neurotransmitter synthesis. MindBooster is highly adaptable to user preferences. The app also informs users about the role of the microbiota in relation to mental wellbeing.
The existing situation, where individuals in Scandinavia wait several months for access to psychological care, presents a significant and deeply concerning challenge. Mental health conditions, such as chronic stress, cannot be put on hold during this waiting period. (Less)
