- Abstract

Previous research shows that women with disabilities are at a greater risk of being victims of violence. Despite this knowledge, there remains a lack of structured guidelines and tailored training for professionals in the field. Through a qualitative method of interviews with LSS staff in different accommodations and instances, the research studies the
reliance on tacit knowledge, lack of guidelines, teamwork at the workplace, and collaboration between different support systems. This study uses Michael Polanyi's theory to analyze its results. Findings highlight the critical role of lived experience and intuition in identifying, working, and supporting the targeted group. This study also shows gaps between formalized training and coordination between support systems. The study underscores that education among the workers and collaboration between different support systems would enhance the help and experience for women with disabilities who have suffered from violence.
