- This interview study explores how efforts to reduce the number of NEETs works and if there is a gap in the ideas of how these efforts work between NEETs and local authorities in Malmö. This study brings forth the voices of NEETs and representatives from local authorities that work with the group on a professional basis. The purpose of the study is two-folded. The study uses institutional ethnography and socialisations as theoretical framework
Furthermore this study makes an argument that study counseling should have a larger role during the school years. What seems to be a key-effort from local authorities is consistent communication and guidance for young people as well as cooperation between local authorities. NEETs in the study requests more feedback and more accurate requirements from employers when applying for jobs. (Less)

- Att vara ung innebär för många en omvälvande tid. Efter studenten upplever många att livet tar en vändning från en trygg vardag. En dag står man där och ska göra ett val som för många kan kännas väldigt avgörande för framtiden. Där någonstans upplever vissa ett limbo, man befinner sig precis mittemellan barndomen och vuxenlivet. För vissa är detta en känsla av frihet, en paus där de känner att man kan göra vad de vill för ett tag utan några måsten. För andra är detta en överväldigande känsla av otillräcklighet samtidigt som de kan uppleva press från sin omgivning, och ibland upplever de allt på samma gång. Vad du kommer få läsa i denna uppsats är en samling erfarenheter från ungdomar som är eller har varit utan arbete och studier som berättat om vad denna period inneburit för dem.
Jag vill rikta ett stort tack till alla ni som ställde upp på en intervju och berättade om era erfarenheter, utan er hade denna studien inte varit möjlig att genomföra. Jag vill även tacka er på Arbetsmarknadsavdelningen på Malmö stad och Arbetsförmedlingen i Malmö för att ni delade med er av er kunskap och vad ert arbete med uvas kan innebära för Malmös unga.
