- The purpose of this study is to investigate how different professions view collaboration within the framework of a collaboration project aimed at juveniles who live in a socio-economically disadvantaged area. In the study, it is the individual's thoughts, opinions, and experiences that are investigated. Differences, similarities, challenges, and possible solutions that the professionals describe will be identified and analyzed. The study is performed in collaboration with a mid-size municipality in southern Sweden, where four student groups separately investigate the same area in town with different perspectives. Two of the student groups study social work, and the other two groups study urban planning. We chose to investigate a specific collaborative project in the chosen district and reached out to different organisations to find suitable respondents. The method that was used for this study was semi-structured interviews, which allowed the respondents to talk freely about different subjects. The results showed that there is a difference between professions in how they handle problems in collaborative projects. Their academic background affects how they handle both collaboration issues and tackle the problems in front of them. Different views on the project contribute to dynamic collaboration, but also contribute to difficulties. (Less)
