Furthermore, it explores how politicians' private and public spheres are presented in media, as well as how gender norms are reproduced or challenged in relation to the reporting. The study shows that the boundary between the public and the private is increasingly blurred within the context of contemporary political journalism. The analysis reveals that women are portrayed as emotional and through their private roles, while men are described in terms of professional competence, reflecting a traditional gender order with gender-based logic in the media. This study contributes to the understanding of the media's role in constructing political leadership and gender norms through the coverage of private lives. (Less)
