Abstract
The arrangement of piano performance spaces can contribute to shaping the psychological experience of pianists, which in turn influences their performance outcomes. This thesis explores how spatial configurations—such as audience proximity, stage layout, performance room size, and lighting— could affect pianists' mental states, including stress, focus, and confidence when performing on stage. Through a combination of theoretical analysis and empirical observations, this thesis examines how environmental factors impact emotional regulation, and motor coordination during performance. Methods include video recordings of performances, questionnaires, and interviews with the pianist involved in the experiments, which are analysed and discussed.... (More)

Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
