Through an interpretivist research approach, this thesis examines a queer art rave collective Riposte based in London, as a space for queer healing and alternative political imagination. The findings suggest that this is done through creative expression through performance art and stylistic expression as well as a culture of care and solidarity, which enables personal and collective transformation making space for the imagination of alternative social realities, where queer identities are liberated from the hegemonic heteronormative cultural and political system. This paper contributes to the understanding of how community spaces can serve as catalysts for social change, encouraging a reimagining of cultural codes and political frameworks that support queer liberation and resilience. The implications of this research extend to broader discussions on the intersection of art, identity, and activism in contemporary social movements. (Less)
