3-D handlingar, GPS-styrning och VA-moduler- En ny metod för framtida anläggningsprojekt
(2008)Civil Engineering - Architecture (BSc)
- Abstract
- Ground construction has to a large extent been dominated by traditional meth-ods during the last 50 years. Although the construction has been changed meanwhile innovations are not accepted. In collaboration with NCC Ltd Region South, I have examined a modern con-struction methodology that has been developed by NCC for future large pro-jects. The method is divided into two central phases. Phase 1 is” Single Pro-duction” which is a preliminary period for ground constructions to come. The main elements in this introductory phase are clearing the site of obstacles, ob-taining good awareness of connection points and coordination with other man-agement owners. Phase two is” Line Production” where the main points are 3D - model for construction... (More)

Phase two is” Line Production” where the main points are 3D - model for construction document, mechanical control with aid of GPS and a new water & sewage pipe-module, which has been developed by NCC and is prefabricated on-the-spot. The benefit of the new construction methodology is supposed to be cost and time reduction. In this investigation the method is compared with the tradi-tional one, to see which results the new method will generate. The result indi-cate that the water & sewage part resulted in a cost reduction of 17%. Benefits in remaining phases are not considered. The results of entire method therefore are expected to be even more positive. (Less)
