I discovered that burnout was not a new phenomena. Different concepts have been used through out history to give expression to the different sympthoms. I choose to concentrate upon neurasthenia. Neurasthenia has comparable sympthoms and equavalent explenations of cause, and arose in the late 19:th and 20:th century. It was confirmed that changes in society does not leave the individual unaffected, and that anguish of existence can arise in modern society. (Less)
