Abstract
This thesis is written within the Master Program of the School of social work at the University of Lund. It comprehends a study of the pre-school personal appreciation about the pedagogical material -Children picture book- for pre-school education in the municipality of Gävle. The methodology of the study is the focus-group approach with slither tone of attitude study. This method help in order to find out if pictures, in any case, have influence or an impact on the children’s second process of socialisation? This thesis is written within the Master Program of the School of social work at the University of Lund. It comprehends a study of the pre-school personal appreciation about the pedagogical material -Children picture book- for pre-school education in the municipality of Gävle. The methodology of the study is the focus-group approach with slither tone of attitude study. This method help in order to find out if pictures, in any case, have influence or an impact on the children’s second process of socialisation? Focus groups are also a way of doing qualitative research, based on group interviews. Three interviews were conducted with three representative groups of communal pre-schools educational programme. A group interview with three pre-school teachers, and two single interviews: one with the responsible of the children’s books section of the library, and the other with one of the responsible for pre-school administration. These three groups informant have different opinions about the pedagogical material of children’s picture book. They also in unanimity recognised the existence of a gap between produced children’s pictures in pre-school books and the truthful picture of the Swedish reality. In other word the children’s picture production tend to ignore the multiethnic dimensional range of nowadays Sweden in time and space. (Less)
