Abstract
The problem we have chosen to investigate is if women of today are inhibited by old ideas of morality concerning the female sexuality and if this affects their sexual identity. We have discussed our questions at issue in the four main headlines: "Influence of upbringing", " Sexual approach", "Sexual content" and "Ideas of morality in former and present time". We used a qualitative method in order to illuminate the problem. We chose to interview eight women in the ages between 25 and 40, since we believe women of this age have come to terms with their own sexuality. Our main conclusion is that the old ideas of morality concerning the female sexuality subconsciously affect women of today. We can however not comment on the degree of influence... (More)

Our main conclusion is that the old ideas of morality concerning the female sexuality subconsciously affect women of today. We can however not comment on the degree of influence based on our essay. We also found that parallels can be drawn between sexual openness during the upbringing and degree of inhibition as a woman. (Less)
