The action program of the welfare office was in accordance with general recommendations from the work environment bureau and the routines described. The welfare office seemed to have experienced few cases of threats or violence during the last years. Still their work environment had shortcomings that according to the informants could prove dangerous in case of aggressive behaviour from a client. What was considered most important for preventing violence was a positive relation to the clients. This relation could be seriously damaged if the social worker was hard to reach or was stressed, for example because of heavy workload. (Less)
