- Abstract
- The purpose of this essay was to examine and compare Swedish and Danish legislation about prostitution and what the work around prostitution looks like in Malmö and Copenhagen. The main questions are: What does the Swedish legislation about prostitution looks like in comparison to the Danish legislation? What does the practical work around the prostitutes in Malmö looks like in comparison to the work in Copenhagen? We have studied earlier research, and interviewed people that meet prostitutes in their work. The Swedish and Danish legislation about prostitution looks a bit different. The Danish law decriminalizes prostitution and the Swedish law makes buying sexual services a criminal offence. Both countries pursue social work to help the... (More)
