Abstract
With machine control engineering vehicles can be controlled by one or several measuring instruments like total station, GPS or plane laser. Machine control are today used on mainly large infrastructure projects where the advantages are; reduced field measurements, increased effectiveness and precision. Can machine control also be used on small projects and have the same advantages compared to large projects? In the survey the interviewed opinions about machine control are explained and also what they think about using it on smaller projects. Further, A comparison have been done of using and not using machine control on a shaft in order get a cost understanding.
The result shows that the persons are positive to use machine control on... (More)

In the survey the interviewed opinions about machine control are explained and also what they think about using it on smaller projects. Further, A comparison have been done of using and not using machine control on a shaft in order get a cost understanding.
The result shows that the persons are positive to use machine control on smaller projects. They believe that the advantages they have today on large projects can be implemented on smaller projects. The cost comparison shows that even on small infrastructure projects there is money to save when using machine control. But there are obstacles on the way. The interviews point at problems like creating the theoretical model and poor knowledge within the area. Based on this result it will probably take some time before it is commonly used on smaller projects. (Less)
