Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine how care managers handle the expectations and damands of their profession. The analysis of the result from the interviews was based on Lennart Lundquist´s theory about the ethics in Swedish administrations and on Erik Blennberger´s theory about ethics in social work. My conclusion was that the care manager´s commitment sometimes was more directed to the caretaker and sometimes more directed to the organization or to laws and municipal guidelines. Often it was a mixture of them all. I found out that these care managers often followed the guidelines of the municipality and that some of them thought it was important to do so because it made the mean test more fair and equal.
