Abstract (Swedish)

A case study approach was applied, focusing on two case companies defining themselves as good corporate citizens and in relation to this are implementing workplace programmes applying the same model and service provider. It was found that the two companies were faced with similar challenges despite being in different stages of the implementation process. Rather, differences were found between different levels in the two companies; management level, office level, and on site/workshop level. Important aspects found influencing the implementation process were related to the theory of resistance to change in organisations, such as lack of communication, lack of strategic vision in management, and fear of negative repercussions. Moreover, religion and culture were experienced as important aspects influencing the implementation process. These aspects lead to an all level resistance in the organisations hindering the success of the HIV/AIDS workplace programme. The findings are discussed in relation to the concept of Corporate Citizenship. (Less)
